Why The Resting Wolf?
Across cultures, the wolf embodies the untamed, resilient dimensions of womanhood: communal yet sovereign, instinctive yet wise, capable of both fierce protection and profound renewal.
Women and wolves have been symbolically linked throughout history, through intuition, protection, loyalty, and fierce independence. In Roman mythology, the she-wolf who nurtures Romulus and Remus represents maternal strength and guardianship; in Greek mythology, wolves were one of the sacred symbols of Artemis - the goddess of the hunt and protector of women; while in Mexican folklore, the archetype of La Loba — the "Wolf Woman" — gathers scattered bones and sings them back to life, symbolizing a woman's power to reclaim lost parts of herself and regenerate from within.
"The doors to the world of the wild Self are few but precious. If you have a deep scar, that is a door, if you have an old, old story, that is a door. If you love the sky and the water so much you almost cannot bear it, that is a door. If you yearn for a deeper life, a full life, a sane life, that is a door."
- Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Ph.D., Women Who Run With The Wolves
The Resting Wolf provides a nurturing space for women to remember their wild, true, best selves … the person who ran free before perfectionism, exhaustion, and overwhelm made them forget.

Our Retreats
All retreats are built on a core model of outdoor movement, a balance of evidence-based and alternative wellness practices, and building long-term connection. Our small group sizes allow us to deep dive more meaningfully into specific areas where women need support. Expect a stronger focus on clinical education at our midlife Illuminate event. Restore retreats go deep on nervous system regulation and rest. Escape layers in thoughtful discussion rooted in literature to expand your worldview and provide meaningful self-reflection.

Our Founder
"Amber isn't here to sell you a wellness routine. She's here because she's watched a broken system fail women for too long — and decided to do something about it."
For more than two decades, Amber Alexander Solano built her career around a single conviction: women deserve better. As a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion leader, she spent the better part of ten years developing international strategies to advance equity in the workplace for women and marginalized people — work that was as urgent as it was hard-won.
When the landscape of corporate DEI changed in 2025, Amber didn't step back. She redirected. Years of advocacy had shown her something consistent beneath the surface of every workplace inequity: women were burning out at a systemic level, and the system had no real answer for it.
The load women carry is rarely acknowledged for what it is. They show up as mothers, as daughters caring for aging parents, as the volunteers quietly holding communities together — all while outperforming just to be seen as equal at work. Layer in the physical and emotional weight of perimenopause and menopause, and the path to burnout isn't just common. It's almost inevitable.
The Resting Wolf was born from Amber's refusal to keep watching that happen without real intervention. Through retreats designed with intention and grounded in the realities of women's lives, her goal is to help women remember what their nervous system baseline actually feels like — and give them the education and tools to protect it when they go home.
Amber isn't a yoga teacher, a hormone specialist, a life coach, or a model of perfect wellness. She's a woman who has lived inside these systems, felt the weight they place on women, and knows firsthand what burnout can cost — careers, families, communities, and a woman's own sense of self. She's simply tired of waiting for someone else to fix it.
